Effect of Diet on Evolutionary Obstetrics by Satyajit Patra in IGWHC in Lupine Publishers . Diet and health are both related directly to the reproductive functions of a female in that nutrient intake effects exactly what hormones are produced and at what amounts. According literature women of Western societies produce more progesterone and estradiol from their ovaries leading to high rates of breast cancer in the West [1]. Another facet to the Western diet is foods that are rich in sugar thus contributing to the blood sugar level and ultimately affecting resistance to insulin. This resistance to insulin, which is called diabetes, may lead to many problems of the reproductive function of women. Obesity, insulin resistance, and hyperinsulinemia are all common of women in the West and lead to oligomenorrhea, amenorrhea, and chronic anovulation [2]. Regions pay big role into nutrition in the sense that different areas have abundance of different types of foods, a bulk of North Am...

Effects of Occupational Hazards on Mental andReproductive Health of Women Nepal by Pralhad Adhikari in IGWHC in Lupine Publishers . Women constitute 51.5 percent of Nepal’s population. Their socioeconomic condition is very backward. Because of forced or early marriage, women are compelled to work as breadwinner of family or worker of household. Some women have obligation to work during pregnancy or immediately after delivery. Since many male cohorts have gone abroad, society resorts to women for labor. Occupational hazards of women are different based on geography, rural-urban environment, ethnicity (or caste) and even religion. Commonest of them are lack of safety devices, sexual harassment, domestic/workplace violence, injuries and occupational diseases. A Women’s Place is at the Heart of the Home by Paul T E Cusack in IGWHC in Lupine Publishers . One of the most dangerous things happening right now is the breakup of the family. This affects women and children most, and men as well. Ever since the advent of Women’s Suffrage in the early 20th Century, followed by the world wars which brought women into the workforce in large numbers in jobs besides teaching and nursing, and final the advent of the Birth Control Pill, Western civilization has seen the decline of the nuclear family. Women have foregone their responsibility to be mother’s and wives. These things mention has led to extremely high divorce rates, so high that marriage is null nowadays. Children are not raised in a nurturing family environment where men take their rightful place as the bread winners and protectors of their families. We see youth with a lot of mental problems including suicide. Social problems such as pornography lead to the disinvitation of women a...

Biophysical Biomarkers of The Fertile Window inSub-Fertile Women: Individual Approach by Murcia Lora JM in IGWHC in Lupine Publishers . The American Society for Reproductive Medicine has defined the length of the fertile period when the first day oestrone-3- glucuronide (E3G) is detected in urine, to the second day after the luteinizing hormone (LH) peaks. This period usually varies between 7 days in fertile people [1]. Actually, most studies define the period of greatest fertility since six days before ovulation until one day after ovulation. The change from infertile days to the most fertile days in the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle occurs during this interval, which is determined by the gradual development of the dynamic follicular progress of the ovulation [2,3]. This interval is different among sub-fertile couples; however, a good correlation also has been observed between biomarkers, at the beginning, and the end of the fertile period in cycles of sub-fertile...

Calponin 1 Serum Level A Biological Marker forPreterm Labor Predictability by Mohamed Ibrahim Taema in IGWHC in Lupine Publishers. Preterm birth is featured and defined as delivery before 37 gestational weeks global occurrence in 15 million neonates and represents around 11% of all living births. The threatened preterm delivery has an incidence around two to three times greater between 24 and 34 gestational weeks than the 34-37 gestational weeks. The bulk of cases with preterm delivery clinical presentation before 32 gestational weeks are referred to a tertiary hospital and managed with tocolytic agents e.g, MgSO4 and lung maturity enhancing agent such as corticosteroids. On the other hand, around 80% of these patients would not give birth within 1 week after hospital admission, and 50 percent of those gestations deliver at term. For that reason, several patients are needlessly referred and exposed to the possible side effects of tocolytic drugs and corticosteroids for both m...

Factors Associated with Success Rate of Vaginal BirthAfter Single Caesarean Section in Khartoum MaternityHospital by Amir Elnahas in IGWHC in Lupine Publishers . From the late 1980s to mid-1990s vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC) rates increased in North America. This was a response to public and professional concerns about rising caesarean section rates and increasing evidence indicating that in the absence of contraindications, VBAC is a safe choice [1]. however, since the mid-1990’s, the rate of VBAC has declined dramatically in Canada, with the repeat caesarean section (C/S) rate having increased from 64.7% in 1995 to 82.4% in 2008 [2,3]. this increase has occurred despite a consensus, reflected in professional guidelines, that VBAC is a safe and appropriate option for most women who have had a previous cs [4-7]. Although attempts at a trial of labor after a cesarean birth (TOLAC) have become accepted practice, the rate of successful vaginal birth after cesarean deliver...
